What are my other creative pursuits?

I dabbled in Photoshop for many, many years (Shh, don’t tell anyone that I was using a cracked version of PS CS6!) before enrolling in art school for my formal education. My composite illustrations and calligraphy have been accepted into juried art shows. I now create branding, book covers, and other promotional materials for myself and other authors.

When enrolling in art school, I figured it couldn’t hurt to have a backup plan and also learn web design while there, since I already knew a little about coding. Little did I know that web design would quickly become my visual art passion, far more than graphic design. The only thing that beats hitting publish on a newly built website is hitting publish on a new novel.
Screen Printing

I also have art school to thank for screen printing. In one of my studio courses, we learned how to create vectors for our own vinyl sticker and t-shirt designs, but we stopped short of actually printing our designs in class. Our professor encouraged us to give screen printing a try at home, and I’ve been designing funny text-based t-shirts ever since.
